One of the first advantages of carpooling is that you can the cost of the journey is shared. Each person occupying a seat in the car contributes to the expenses. The journey can sometimes be profitable for the driver.

Creating an account on the Mboa carpooling application is very simple: 😜

1. When you first open the application, click on “Create an account”.
2. Next, you can choose to create your account using either your phone number, email address or one of your Facebook, Google or Instagram accounts.
3. All you have to do is follow the instructions!

Want to publish a route? here’s what to do:

1. In the bottom navigation menu, go to “Publish”.
2. Enter your departure city (Ex : Douala)
3. Enter the meeting point with your future passengers (Ex : rond-point Deido)

NB :
It’s always possible that a passenger will be waiting for you somewhere else because they’re further along the route.

1. Enter your arrival city(Ex : Yaoundé)
2. Enter your stop point (Ex : Carrefour Nlongkak)
3. Select your travel date
4. Specify departure time
5. Click on “Add a car” or select the car you will be traveling with if it is already registered in the system.
6. Enter the number of places available
7. Enter the price of a ticket
8. If you want to take passengers to an intermediate city (Ex : Edéa when travelling from Douala to Yaoundé) click on “Yes, I will make stopovers” and follow the instructions to enter the stopover cities;

Otherwise, click on “I won’t stop” to continue.

1. Leave a comment if there’s anything else you’d like your passengers to know.
2. Finally done!

To find a route, enter the city of departure, the city of arrival and the date of departure. Then choose the route that suits you best from the results displayed!

1. Can’t find a route?
   Create an alert to be notified when a route matching your criteria is published.
2. Book and pay online
   click on “Book” and make your payment. To make the payment, you must :

• Choose your payment method
• Enter the depository phone number.
• Enter the depository phone number.
• Then, when you submit the payment, a message confirming your payment will appear.

You must :

1. Check that his account is “Certified”, which means that his driver’s license has been validated by the platform.
2. If there are multiple routes that match your search criteria, select the one with the lowest fare for the driver.

Cancelling a reservation is very simple:

1. Go to your reservations and click on the reservation you wish to delete.
2. At the bottom of the page, click on “Cancel your reservation”.
3. Click on “Validate
4. And there you have it! 😜

If you cancel a reservation, Mboa covoiturage will refund 98% of your reservation fee. The 2% deducted represents Orange money or Mobile money charges for the booking deposit and the refund withdrawal.

When you cancel a trip :

• who does not have a reservation, you will receive a full refund.
• who has reservations, Mboa covoiturage will charge you 2% of the total amount of reservations made on your route.

This 2% represents the Orange Money and Mobile Money fees for your passengers’ reservation deposit and refund withdrawal transactions.

Itineraries or routes are not created by the Mboa carpooling team, but by car-owning users who publish their travel itineraries for passengers.

The routes available are therefore not fixed.
